Why use Koble?

God is on a mission

Though He never changes, and the Gospel remains the same, the world around us is changing. In the UK today, many people do not have an active, living faith in God. Some are hostile to faith, others indifferent and some are curious. What is certain is there are countless individuals who, if given the opportunity and approached in the right way might be open to a conversation with someone of faith. Whether intentionally or unintentionally, these moments can spark or continue a journey toward God.

However, there are real missional gaps between the church and those outside it. Koble exists to help us have conversations about practical, simple ways to bridge those gaps and belong more fully to God’s mission.

Often, people can disengage from traditional approaches to mission, such as being 'told' the Gospel before anyone has even asked their name or taken time to understand their life circumstances. Invitations to church services or enquiry courses can sometimes feel like too big a leap and lead to us either not asking, or getting a “no” when we do ask.

Our hesitancy or a “no”, however, doesn’t have to be the end of the journey — it can be an invitation to think differently, broaden our approach, and start further back. Many people may not be ready to attend church or talk about faith directly, but they are ready to discuss the issues, questions, and experiences they’re facing in life. Others may be open to exploring faith and might even make their own way to church with a little input from us. But for many, the first step is simply meeting and connecting with someone who genuinely lives out their faith.

And what about us?

Many of us struggle with mission. We might find sharing our faith difficult or unnatural. We might feel disheartened, unsure if we’re making a real impact, or unaware of how to reach people we rarely, if ever, connect with. Sometimes, local mission is left to a small group or church leaders, while others feel detached or unsure how to be involved. Others of us are passionate about mission but may not have given much thought to different approaches. Finally, there will also be many stories of success, and of lives changed by what you already do. Taking time therefore to think about mission together draws together a richness of experience, ideas and opportunity that may not happen if we don’t take time to explore it together.

Wherever you find yourself: passionate about mission, unsure where to begin, or even dreading the idea — Koble is for you.

If you long to connect more deeply with people you already know, or reach out to those you don’t — Koble is for you.

If you want to engage with those who might usually say “no,” as well as those who are already thinking “maybe” or even “yes” — Koble is for you.

Koble is here to help you join in with God’s mission in your community, among your friends, neighbours, colleagues, and beyond. At its heart is a series of reflections and ideas designed to help you under the power of God’s spirit to:
